offical document on IIS windows authentication

Hi,

I'm having an environment which is using IIS 8.5 windows authentication. (server 2012 enterprise)

I do like to check and look for official notice or document on the following infrastructure setup

• is IIS configure windows authentication officially able to work with a reverse proxy in front of it, is there any document or notice from Microsoft showing the function?
• if I had client machine outside of the domain (different domain as the IIS), are they able to access the web site publish by IIS?  if it can't is there a way to make IIS recognize user from the other domain?
