Hello I am new to IIS and inherited and old IIS 6 box that serves up files from our file share server which is working the way it should. We are in the process of creating the same shares on a Windows 2012 server with IIS 8.5. I have a virtual directory setup with the connect as using the pass-through authentication account. The application pool has the identity set as "networkservice" however it is not working. I am getting a 500.19 error saying that the web.config file can not be read.
This is what I am trying to achieve:
Client types the URL in the browser
They are presented with a login box
User type in AD username and password (If they are not part of a group that has access to this share no access)
