AD user authentication to allow access to FTP server

I have looked and tried all the suggested remedies to set this up and still can't get a users AD account to authenticate access to a local IIS 7.5 FTP site.  This should not be that complicated, but no matter what I try, it don't allow them.

Users have local virtual dir's on the server with read/write, using basic auth, created a generic "public" AD account and using that instead of ISUR,  Using virtual path site/localuser/username with Inetpub/ftproot. Which is shared allow access to those who need it.  Domain name is refrenced in the settings, etc... What the heck am I missing!!!

My goal is to give members of a group access to their local vir-dir's using there active directory account and password.

Aaargh!!!  Pulling my hair out.

Thanks, Tandrist
