How can I disable SSL for localhost access?

From within an external component controlled by our IIS .NET web application I need to issue a web request to address some of our images.

DNS services have been disabled, thus, I can only access these URLs using the host name "localhost" or "127.0.0.1".

Our web application requires SSL, but since the certificate has been issued to our DNS name, the external component fails to load the data because the certificate isn't issued to "localhost".

Is there a way of disabling SSL for localhost or 127.0.0.1 in IIS 6?

(I couldn't think of a requirement for using SSL on localhost, anyway, except for temporarily testing certificate and access.)
