local CA may cause deletion of IIS certificate right after installation?

Hi,

please help, I have no experience with certificates, not at this level:

I have purchased a Godaddy SSL certificate for IIS and installed it according to this link:

http://support.godaddy.com/help/article/4801/installing-an-ssl-certificate-in-microsoft-iis-7

Done this many times with various SSL certificates.

My machine is running IIS, OS is Windows 2008 R2, domain joined

Everything went flawless, except that after installation, if I refresh the IIS manager, the certificate is disappeared.

IIS7 SSL Certificate installs, but disappears right away.

Nothing is wrong with the certificate, it installes just fine (and remains) on another Windows 2008 R2 webserver, not domain-joined.

Then I opened the Certification Authority MMC on the Domain Controller, and I discovered there is a root CA for the domain I bought from Godaddy. (CN from the ceritificate is vpn.domain.com, root CA is domain.com)

Question: could this be the cause for the fact that the certificate disappears right after the installation?

Please advise,

thank you,

Marius
