I have been tasked to run an IIS server on windows 2003 server (IIS 6) which is not on a domain and have it access files on a 2012 Server which does not have IIS installed and is on the domain. I setup a local account on the 2012 box for the 2003 box to use for authentication.
Currently if I try to access the 2012 box from the 2003 box I keep on getting Authentication failures and when I check the server logs for the 2012 box, I see it is accepting the username but its noting that the password is wrong. I reset the password a bunch of times with the same issue. I ran through a couple of posts and read that the settings need to be changed on the 2012 box to allow 2003 box to connect. I do not administer the 2012 server so I do not have permissions to do anything. The 2003 box, I can do whatever.
